Notices: 1. Tomorrow (Monday) is our End of Year Mass at 9am in Siena. You are more than welcome to celebrate this with us. 2. On Tuesday, the students will be placed with their 2019 Year 4 Teacher and class for a short period of time. This transition will allow the students to connect with their new Teacher and classmates prior to the beginning of the year. Your child will then bring home their class allocation letter for you on Tuesday afternoon. 3. We will be having an End of Year Break Up Party on Thursday to celebrate a wonderful year. The children are more than welcome to bring in a plate of their favourite snack to share with their classmates. Thank you! 4. Unfortunately, our last day for the year is this Friday. We will be having a games morning - the children are more than welcome to bring their favourite game to play. Please remember the last day of school finishes at 11:30am.
Portfolios & Report Cards: 1. On Wednesday, your child will bring home their final Portfolio for the year. This portfolio will provide you with your child's work samples which will reflect their progress in Term 4 for Year 3. 2. Report Cards will also be available on the Parent Portal from 3pm on Wednesday.
Please see below a snippet from Acting Assistant Principal, Gemma Camilleri about the reporting format from last week's Newsletter: The report format is the same to the Semester 1 report; that is, we mark achievement on a 5 point scale (Well Above, Above, Expected, Below Expected, Well Below Expected) and also mark effort using a 4 point scale (Consistently, Usually, Sometimes, Rarely). This semester there will be only ONE mark for English and Mathematics. The comment will show you how your child is performing in each area of English and Mathematics. Nothing on the report will come as a surprise to you. It will reinforce the information you have received through the year from the teacher as well as information from the portfolio sent home each term.
Thank you: I would like to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful families in 3 Maroon. The children have had a fantastic year of growing and learning - I have enjoyed my time with them in 3 Maroon. A massive thank you to all our parents and carers for their help and support this year - we couldn't have got through the year without you.
Have a fabulous week! :)

Week 2 Update!
Good evening all,
Notices: 1. Friendly reminder: Please remember to return your child's portfolio. 2. There a number of students who are experiencing difficulty with telling the time. Please take the time daily to practise this skill with your child. A great tip is whenever you come across a clock ask your child to read the time with you. By the end of Year 3 students are expected to tell the time to the exactminute. This needs to happen with analogue clocks, digital clocks and word form (twenty-two minutes past six AND thirteen minutes to four).
